Inaugural Red Nose Day Charity A Success

Academic Partnerships employees last month participated in Red Nose Day on May 21, a national fundraising effort designed for fun, awareness and to raise money for young people living in poverty.

Organizers say, $188 was donated by AP participants who purchased soft red noses for $1 then posed for a picture in the Plaza of the Americas lobby, joining others across the U.S.

Locally, money donated benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, the National Council of La Raza and the United Way.

The inaugural national event raised $21 million for the Red Nose Day Fund, which distributes grants to charities in the U.S. and some of the poorest communities in the world, according to event organizers.
